Program Overview
The Pre-Medical program was created for those students who do not meet the Admissions criteria of SMUFOM on the basis of not having completed the courses and credits required for Admissions into the MD Program. Our Pre-Medical Program is a one year, 90 credit hours accelerated program consisting of THREE intensive semesters.
Prerequisites For the Pre-Medical Program:
Admissions are based on a holistic approach in regards to the following requirements, and not based solely on one criterion. Each applicant is evaluated individually. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis by the Admission Committee. Strong consideration is given to applicants whose background is in the healthcare field.
High school cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (Competitive GPA = 3.0)
Must have completed 2 of the 3 science courses among Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology

Curriculum
The Pre-Medical Program offers students the ability to take the courses required for Admissions into the MD Program in record time. This program also provides students with the information and knowledge they will require when they begin the Basic Science Program. In addition, our Pre-Medical Program offers introductory courses to prepare student for the courses they will be taking in their MD1 Semester.
